The
Connector
Closeness turns into needing.
How this pattern works
My system moves towards people. I feel the space between us before anyone names it, and I move close to it. My warmth is real. But somewhere along the way, closeness becomes needing. And needing becomes watching. When someone goes quiet, I go searching for what changed.
One moment, up close
When someone feels distant, I notice before they say a word.
I reach out first. Again. I always do.
One unread message, and my mind writes ten stories.
The reach
Watch the three dots. They appear, and something in me holds its breath. They vanish, and I begin composing the next reach.
The messages are not the pattern. The waiting is. What I want is not really the reply. It is the closeness the reply would prove.
Where this began
Once, closeness kept things safe. A child who stayed near, who kept the thread warm, was a child who was never left alone.
The pattern never stopped reaching. Even when the distance was only imagined.
The rest of this pattern
There is more. Every room of it is already connected to you.
A pattern reads differently when it is yours. The full reading covers each of these threads, and it only really lands when it is speaking to you.

Reach for any room and its thread lights up. Something answers, that is the feeling this pattern is always looking for. The full reading is the version that answers back properly.
