The Doer
Finishing turns into starting.
How this pattern works
My system moves towards action. I see what needs doing and I am already moving. My drive is real. But somewhere along the way, finishing becomes starting. And rest becomes waiting. I do not slow down. I just change tasks.
One moment, up close
I finish one thing and reach for the next, before the first has even landed.
Sitting still feels like falling behind.
People ask when I rest. I tell them I will. After this.
The finish line
Today
Watch closely. The runner is not slow. The line moves. Every finished thing quietly becomes the starting line of the next one. That is why rest never arrives. It is always scheduled for after this.
Where this began
Once, moving fast kept things safe. A child who got things done was a child who could outrun whatever was going wrong.
The pattern never stopped moving. Even long after there was nothing left to outrun.
The rest of this pattern
There is more. It does not belong on a to-do list.
A pattern reads differently when it is yours. The full reading covers everything below, and it only really lands when it is speaking to you.

The first step
In your reading
Go ahead, tick one. Notice it does not stay ticked. On this side of the reading, nothing stays done, which is rather the point. The full reading is not another task to complete. It is the thing that lets you stop.
